Dolce Canto is a mixed-voice volunteer chorus with professional standards. The choir is comprised of singers from many walks of life who share an enthusiasm for the choral art form. Dolce Canto (formerly the Missoula Symphony Chamber Choir) was founded in 2001 so its members could enjoy the exploration and performance of exceptional choral literature appropriate for smaller choirs. The choir’s repertoire consists of sacred and secular musical gems, mostly a cappella, representing various historical periods and musical styles. Peter Park serves as both artistic director and conductor of the group.

Dolce Canto performs several programs each year for both public and private audiences. The group has been featured with the Missoula Symphony Orchestra, the Helena Symphony Orchestra, and as part of the St. Timothy’s Summer Music Festival. The choir engaged in its first Western Montana tour in the spring of 2007 that included a performance in the Madison River Music Festival. The ensemble regularly presents fundraising concerts for local nonprofit organizations including Youth Homes and the International Choral Festival, and its members enjoy participating in outreach activities in area schools and other community venues.
